Southern Bell

Image
H&M t-shirt / Rainbow Shops skirt / Target sandals / Forever 21 hat and necklace Shop Similar Practicing my southern bell style with this midi skirt I found at Rainbow shops two months ago. It resembles a skirt  I've been wanting from Zara, but I either never found my size at the store or didn't take the time to find it online. This one is just as pretty and I paid a fraction of the price. I have to say this sandals are very comfortable, I walked a lot that day and I had no problems with any pain or blisters. I wore this outfit two weeks ago when I checked out the Michael Angelo exhibit at the Oculus in NYC and a long walk along the Brooklyn bridge. xo, Yaudy Cristins

You Can Ring My Bell

Image
Francesca's blouse / Levi's shorts / Target sandals   Shop Similar So I might have a bit of an obsession with bell sleeves.   These top has a 70's vibe that I love and it's one of the pieces that has been in heavy rotation this Summer.  I styled it for the office with a brown faux leather skirt ,wore it two times with a pencil denim skirt and it's not ready to be put away in the closet just yet. I've been trying to take pictures in different places but I have a little funny story to tell with this location.  I was minding my own business, going back and forth to my tripod and all of sudden I missed my step landed on the bush and no lie, like 1000 mosquitoes flew out.  Mosquitoes love me, these ones loved my forehead haha  Needless to say I had a big bump on my forehead that lasted like three days, it was so bad that I decided to cut long bangs just to cover it.... Anyways, hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! xo, Yau

Meeting Cara Alwill Leyba

Image
On Friday night I had the pleasure of meeting Cara. I found out about this event and didn't think about it twice.  I have heard amazing things about her books and meeting her in person was such a great experience. The event was held at Macy's in Downtown Brooklyn. Her new book is called The Champagne Diet which is about celebrating health, mind and body.  At the event she gave us tips on how to make our home the perfect place and how to make it an enjoyable experience every time we are home. These were a few of the tips I will practicing for sure: *Write a celebration list at the end of the day with all the things you accomplished and read it sipping a bit of champagne.  Instead of concentrating on the things you didn't complete, celebrate what you actually accomplished. *Drink water in a wine glass  *Put candles around the house and also bringing them while traveling *Buy a juicer *Make your bed everyday *Disconnect from your phone, don&#

Never Too Old For A Tutu

Image
H&M tank top and shoes / Zara skirt / Dor L Dor purse Shop Similar Zara has a way of winning my heart all the time! This denim/tutu skirt is one of the craziest but coolest pieces I ever got from Zara and I love it!  I made it a point to step out of my comfort zone with items I buy and I think with this skirt I accomplished that. A combination of cool and a bit rockerish (I don't know if that 's a word haha) I wanted to make the skirt stand out, so I kept everything else simple. I have worn it two times after that and it has definitely been a conversation starter LOL xo, Yaudy Cristina

The One Shoulder Secret

Image
Forever 21 dress and slides / H&M skirt / Etsy Bag via Sheer-wood Vintage Shop Similar When you are a clothes hoarder and don't throw away or sell anything in your closet, you seem to find new trends that were old trends still hanging in there lol This top here is actually a dress! I wore this dress like 7 years ago and was so thankful I never decided to get rid of it.  It fits a little big now, so I decided to tuck it in my skirt and wear it as a shirt. It has a vintage look to it (at this point I think it would be considered vintage) so styling it with my favorite vintage bag was a given.   xo, Yaudy Cristina

Thinking Ahead

Image
H&M t-shirt and slides / Uniqlo jeans / Etsy bag via Sherwood Vintage Shop Similar Does anyone else feels like this year is flying by? Part of me wants September to arrive but the other part of me does not want to see snow and Winter. I have a big trip coming up and planning outfits has been so much fun. I haven't gone shopping since I am in shopping freeze, but the items I bought prior were all for my vacation. This t-shirt is one of those pieces I will be wearing during my trip and if you read the t-shirt you can probably figure out where it is that I am headed!! I've worn this shirt several times, but paired with this vintage bag, jeans and slides was the perfect assemble for a night of painting and drinks with friends. on another note... How gorgeous is this 1960's wicker bag?!?! xo, Yaudy Cristina

Vintage Feels

Image
Zara blouse / H&M skirt / Nine West shoes Shop Similar Happy Monday!!!! Here is an outfit I wore to the office last week  that was totally unplanned, but came together sort of vintage looking. I found this skirt at H&M right before vacation and wore it with a white cropped top and flats.  I have another look planned with it and will be probably wearing it all thru Winter with thighs.  It is just too beautiful to store away for a whole season. Hope you all had a nice weekend! xo, Yaudy Cristina

Pretty Woman

Image
Forever 21 dress and fedora / H&M sandals Shop Similar One of the first movies I watch when I arrived in the US was Pretty Woman. I was fascinated by the polka dot dress she wore at the polo match and I'm pretty sure that scene is what started my love for "lady like" dresses. I had this dress hanging in my closet for over 5 years and lost count of how many times I've worn it. It's a classic piece that can be dressed up with heels or dressed down like I styled here.  Can't wait to wear it again! xo, Yaudy Cristina

Roosevelt Island

Image
Francesca's top and necklace  / Uniqlo jeans / Target sandals / Bag from boutique in Clear-water Fla Shop Similar Happy Monday everyone! I had such an amazing weekend filled with adventures, but my favorite one of all was yesterday's visit to Roosevelt Island and the delicious food and drinks at Maya restaurant. If you are in the NYC area and are looking for an amazing Sunday brunch I truly recommend this place. For $45 the food and drinks are included and the service is outstanding. My plate and cup were never empty.  Needless to say I left there with a full belly and a content tipsy attitude LOL  xo, Yaudy Cristina
