Why I stopped buying trendy pieces.. If you have been here a while you probably already know that I have been thrifting my clothes for the past 2 years.  It has helped me find my own style and my own voice when it comes to the pieces I wear.  I am not saying I will never wear what is trendy, but I will def be looking for those trends second hand. Here are a few tips I use before heading to the thrift stores... Make a thrift wish list.    For the longest time I had on my list an oversized quilted jacket/coat and I just recently found one that was in prefect condition. I was so happy!! Also found a pair of Levi's ribcage flares I can't wait to wear them. Having a list helps you when choosing what to bring home. Have an open mind. Not every piece you find will be the exact match, but having an opened mind and a good tailor always helps.    Do not worry about sizing. If you don't already know, a vintage 8 it is not a modern 8 per say.  I buy whatever fits ...

When the 80's come back.... I have to be honest 80's fashion is not my favorite, but I couldn't resist this vintage jumpsuit.  I went all 80's pairing it with pink boots to keep the colors going.  What is your favorite fashion era? xo, Yaudy Cristina *Vintage jumpsuit and bag*  

Holiday Colors... The holidays are here!! Here are some things I plan to do from here until January first: Visit the Rockefeller tree (one more time) I went two weeks ago Make a ginger bread house (with my Godson) See a Christmas show Watch Miracle on 34Th Street (as I never watched it) Try to schedule time to see some loved ones  Take time for myself... Holidays always feel rushed and as wonderful as this time is, it could get very stressful. It is important to remember to take a breather and just enjoy! Another Fall/Winter season is upon us! The weather has been beautiful, but let's face it Winter is around the corner.  Number one item on my to do list is to clean my coats and try to find my gloves.  I cannot be the only one who always looses those haha This coat is one of my favorite vintage finds to date. I have collected several vintage 70's blouses and by far this one is my favorite. I have worn it so many times from work, on the weekend, with pants. with shorts and skirts.  So many endless options with this timeless piece. My love for thrifting and finding vintage pieces have grown so much this past year.  I love to give life to older pieces.  I love to mix them with "now" trend like these pair of pink pants.  I added a chain belt and mules for a day at the office. A mix of vintage and new.... I have become a vintage lover and vintage collector when it comes to denim.  There is nothing more satisfying than the feeling of a perfectly worn vintage pair of jeans.  In my collection, I have this Calvin Klein, a couple of Liz Claiborne Sport and my favorite pair will always be my Guess.   Every time I wear them it brings back memories to when I was a teenager in the 90's.   I paired them with a floral top, metallic sandals and vintage bag.  Have a wonderful weekend! Can you tell I love leather? Leather has a "cool thing" to it at least to me.  Back when I was younger I used to buy a lot of pleather as I have always love the look of a leather piece.  Now, I tend to invest in either vegan leather or vintage leather.   I have thrifted a couple of good pieces including a pair of black leather pants and shorts that I know I will treasure those pieces forever.  I am on the hunt for a good leather jacket, I recently found a gold colored one on Etsy, but haven't had a chance to get it cleaned yet.  You will see it soon! This blazer I got at Express the pants are a hand me down from my boyfriend's mom's closet and the shoes are converse.  I wanted to keep it casual and just added a white Men's Hanes t-shirt (those are the best in my opinion).  I have worn this blazer a handful of times but didn't take any pictures.  I have to do a better job at that if I want to call myself a part-time blogger ha!
