Paris in September

I have always been a renter it wasn’t until recently that my boyfriend decided to purchase a house.  Then all the new knowledge began along with some unexpected headaches that are part of home ownership.  Thankfully he is very hands on and knows how to do a lot of these things on his own, but he also has great resources if need be to call professionals. Here are the most important things we have learned since starting the process and all the things we kept an eye on before he committed to a house. Know your location I have heard this thousand of times. Location! Location! Location!   This is super important, especially if you are somebody like me that likes to go out and sometimes driving is not ideal.   It was very important for me he found a house close to public transit.   Since we live so close to NYC it is always nice to go in and spend the day, but it is so hard to find parking in those busy streets, taking the bus or train is ideal.   I needed ...

Welcome  to Paris in September... I finally took the plunge and changed the name of this little space that I love so much.  Paris has a very special place in my heart and my birthday is in September, it was a match!  I have only been there one time and I went for my birthday, and I couldn't think of a better name. Give me all the tie dye please!!! The two biggest sale days of the year...... I have never been out shopping the Black Friday sales.  To be honest the madness kind of stresses me.  This year I have learned to love online shopping more than anything.  Yes- I like touching the items I am buying and trying them on, but sometimes comfort shopping is best.  Just a click away! And this year I learned to appreciate what I already have.... I can't believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow.  As hard as this year has been I came to the realization that we must be happy for all we have in the present and stop always acknowledging what we did not achieve.  I learned a lot about myself the last couple of months and as cheesy as it sounds I feel blessed.  I know holidays are different this year for a lot of us. Some are going on with their business and some like me are taking precautions.  I know better days are coming and I will reunite with my family I have no doubt that God has a plan, he always does. I will take vintage anytime... During my shopping career (yes, I call it that LOL) I have learned to appreciate the beauty of vintage.  There is something fascinating not knowing what you will find once you enter the store.  I have found a few pieces I cherish, but my favorite at the moment is this Burberry blazer I got at Vintage On First.  A beautiful store in Hoboken, NJ that carries some amazing pieces. I immediately knew how I was going to wear this a tribute to that little girl who was always best dressed at school and learned the power of a great blazer at 13 years old.  This was it!  If you grew up in the 90's you know this type of outfits were all over.  Leggings and a blazer and call it a day fast forward to 2020 minus the dark lip liner and nude lips I felt like a blast from the past. I heard sweater vests are back and I couldn't be more happier... This year I have enjoyed the transition from Summer to Fall.  Every year I missed the window where you can layer and not have to cover your outfit with a coat.  I am surprised that it is Nov and the weather has been really nice!
