Bye 2023  I can sit here and pour my heart out and tell you all the bad things that happened this year, but I won't.  I will leave you with this... 2023 has been one of the most challenging and difficult years I had in a while.  There was not one month that went by that something didn't happen.  There were a lot of endings and new beginnings. Some of those beginnings haven't even started yet and to be completely honest I am looking forward to them. Some people left my life, some are holding grudges, some I let back in and made more trouble, some just decided to step aside on their own and some showed me how much they care for me.   I guess that's  what life is all about, right? I learned I am stronger than I ever thought I was.  What felt like being on survival mode for 365 days made me even stronger that I could ever imagine. I know the start of a new year doesn't erase all that happened and the problems will still be there tomorrow. ...

Thrifting Tips

Image
Why I stopped buying trendy pieces.. If you have been here a while you probably already know that I have been thrifting my clothes for the past 2 years.  It has helped me find my own style and my own voice when it comes to the pieces I wear.  I am not saying I will never wear what is trendy, but I will def be looking for those trends second hand. Here are a few tips I use before heading to the thrift stores... Make a thrift wish list.    For the longest time I had on my list an oversized quilted jacket/coat and I just recently found one that was in prefect condition. I was so happy!! Also found a pair of Levi's ribcage flares I can't wait to wear them. Having a list helps you when choosing what to bring home. Have an open mind. Not every piece you find will be the exact match, but having an opened mind and a good tailor always helps.    Do not worry about sizing. If you don't already know, a vintage 8 it is not a modern 8 per say.  I buy whatever fits ...

Spring Forward

Image
Waiting for Spring... With Spring right around the corner I am starting to spring clean my house, my mind and everything! Here are three things I did so far.. I lightened my hair I been wanting to go blonde for a while and I finally did last month.  I went in for some front highlights, but my hair dresser convinced me to do a full head of them.  I am happy I did! I cleaned my closet This is something I do on a regular basis, but right before the change of season I edit my closet and pretty much donate anything that I have not worn in at least a year and items that don't bring me joy anymore. Change/Add new skin products I like to call myself a collector not a hoarder when it comes to skin care.  As much as I like to keep them all, I also do a clean sweep of products that really didn't work for me.  My most used item is my moisturizer and that is the first thing I change from a thicker one to a lotion for the warmer days. Is there anything you do before the ch...

When the 80's come back.... I have to be honest 80's fashion is not my favorite, but I couldn't resist this vintage jumpsuit.  I went all 80's pairing it with pink boots to keep the colors going.  What is your favorite fashion era? xo, Yaudy Cristina *Vintage jumpsuit and bag*

Three things to help with the Winter blues

Image
I think we can all agree that Winter can be draining and depressing sometimes.  I personally dread this of time of the year and as soon as the Holidays are over I want warm weather and the sun. I started doing these three things for about 3 years now and they do make me feel better. I started to journal... I write down thoughts and things I want to accomplish.  Every night I write down events that took place during the day as well as activities I want to do in the future. I even plan my outfits ahead of time. Spa day at home... Every Wednesday night I do a face mask and hair mask.  I also keep up with my pedicures and shave my legs, YES, shave my legs during Winter LOL Those little things are so good for your self steam. Self care is a must for me. Make meals,,, I love cooking, so this one is a no brainer for me.  I love trying out new dishes and come up with recipes of my own.  Something I have been doing for a while now. Let me know in the comments what ...

My 3 Goals for 2023

Image
2022 felt like it came and went with a blink of an eye.  It was a good year for me personally and professionally. I was able to do some traveling and that is always a good thing! I did a lot of growing and self healing.  Hoping to continue that during this year, With that said here are the three major personal goals I plan to accomplish. Do more of what makes me happy.. I need to get on a writing schedule.  Writing on here makes me feel accomplished and it is something I have let go for while.  But I think if I make it into a task it will definitely be done.  I am starting today and scheduling another post for Wednesdays Stop over spending... I spent have of my vacation cleaning and decluttering my house I feel so light.  I am able to open my closets and see what I have and it is more than enough.  I am not saying I will never buy anything as my business is about thrifting and finding those gems, but I know being sustainable means less overbuying...

Feliz Noche Buena

Image
Noche Buena... Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Feliz Noche Buena tonight! Lets take a moment and reflect in the meaning of this very important day.  A day filled with happiness, sadness for some and remember the beauty of this very special time.  xo, Yaudy Cristina  *All pieces are old from my closet*

Green for the Win

Image
Holiday Colors... I wore this outfit not even thinking that the green in the pants reminds me of Christmas.  These pants are really fun, specially the cut out detail in the front.  Paired with a vintage checkered blazer and buckle belt, was the perfect office outfit for this time of year. xo, Yaudy Cristina *Vintage blazer and Coach bag thrifted at Goodwill / Pants and boots Shein / Belt thrifted at Valley Thrift in Ohio*

My Holiday List

Image
The holidays are here!! Here are some things I plan to do from here until January first: Visit the Rockefeller tree (one more time) I went two weeks ago Make a ginger bread house (with my Godson) See a Christmas show Watch Miracle on 34Th Street (as I never watched it) Try to schedule time to see some loved ones  Take time for myself... Holidays always feel rushed and as wonderful as this time is, it could get very stressful. It is important to remember to take a breather and just enjoy! Hopefully this inspires you to create your own list! xo, Yaudy Cristina *whole outfit here is thrifted*

90's Are Back!

Image
Cut-outs are my favorite! Fashion always comes back.  There will always be blazers and shoulder pads.  If I knew that back in 1991, I would have never thrown away my clothes LOL  This blazer is super unique and the cut-out detail is just fabulous. I definitely need to wear it more for sure. Happy Weekend! Yaudy Cristina  Blazer: Shein, Jeans: Levi's, Shoes: Jessica Simpson via TJ Maxx. Bag: thrifted

Coats Out!

Image
Another Fall/Winter season is upon us! The weather has been beautiful, but let's face it Winter is around the corner.  Number one item on my to do list is to clean my coats and try to find my gloves.  I cannot be the only one who always looses those haha This coat is one of my favorite vintage finds to date. The color and collar are just beautiful! Happy almost weekend!  Yaudy Cristina * All pieces are thrifted or found in Etsy *

Easy Summer

Image
One of the many things I love about Summer is how easy it is to get dressed.  A pair  of shorts, top and sandals and you are all set.  These pair of shorts I cut myself.  I have collected a few vintage Levi's jeans in different sizes and when I feel like making new shorts, I cut them.  If you don't know yet, the Levi's men fit better than the women ones.  Specially for long legged gals like me.  I paired them with a tube top I got at H&M ages ago and a thrifted crochet vest.  Added a braided head band and cute pair of earrings and I was ready to go. Have you ever made jeans into shorts? Please share! xo, Yaudy Cristina   Shop Similar

Covered In Leopard

Image
Is there anyone who doesn't like leopard print?  I don't think so LOL This outfit was a spare of the moment thought,  when I could not figure out what to wear and wanted to wear these pants so bad, but the top I was looking for was dirty type of moment. So, I decided to pile on all the leopard print I own and I am not one bit mad as how the look turned out. I have been so into this type of style pant. Super comfortable and wearable I want to wear them everyday.  These pants are a recent purchase, but everything else has been sitting in my closet forever. Hope you guys have an amazing weekend! A Look Inside the Octagon House

Image
Last Monday I took myself on a solo adventure and went to visit the Armour-Stiner House.  The Octagon House is located in Irvington, in Westchester County, New York.  It is a National Historic Landmark since 1976 and it is the only domed octagonal residence.  It is truly a master piece!   For only $33 dollars you can tour the outside and inside of the house.  All while learning the history not only of the house but of every single family that owned it at some point.  I of course had to dress for the occasion and wore this beautiful vintage dress, perfect colors for the house I swear I was blending in LOL   Needless tp say I asked the tour guide if there were any ghost in the house and to my surprised she said yes!  There is known to be a French decent girl living in the house and one of the owners wrote about her in his books.  The moment I heard that I immediately booked my Fall tour because during spooky season they speak all...
